On September 11, 2001 the catastrophic tragedy
of the World Trade Center attack collapsed our sense of security,
numbed our minds, broke our hearts, and left us with the wreckage
of our ambivalent feelings.
We watched in horror as video clips played endlessly the surrealistic
scenes.
Along with the WTC, fell the Dow-Jones Industrial Average--and
the jobs of multitudes are affected as the economic fall-out
continues. Lay-offs, pay cuts, and increased tension and stress
in the workplace signal an uncertain sound for the financial
security of families.
Wars and rumors of wars come close to home as military reservists
are called to active duty and we see the signs of military build
up.
How do persons of faith weather the storms of such a crisis?
